Welcome to davidcrump.com, the website of The Law Offices of David L. Crump. David Crump is a trial lawyer with offices located near Seattle, Washington. He is recognized as a six time "Super Lawyer" (2000-2006) and "Rising Star" (1999) in Washington law and limits his practice exclusively to representing and protecting the rights of individuals. He will not represent any corporate or government entity, believing that the large corporations and governments of this country possess greater resources and power and wield a far greater influence over the individual than they should. Sadly, few lawyers are willing or trained to take on these non-human entities and do battle in pursuit of justice for the average person, the "little guy".

Trial Lawyer's College / Gerry Spence
David Crump was one of only 50 "Warrior" lawyers selected to attend Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College during the month of August 1996. The Trial Lawyer's College has been held each year since 1994 at the Wyoming ranch owned by Gerry Spence. The purpose of the college is to train these "Warriors for Justice" to be winning trial lawyers for the people against the large corporations, insurance companies and governments who, in pursuit of power and profit, exert a disproportionate influence and control that threatens the rights of individuals.

The Importance of Storytelling
May I tell you a story? Long ago, before there were history books or the written word, mankind's only form of communication was the spoken word. Information that was essential to mankind's survival was passed on, from generation to generation, by storytellers. Each tribe had storytellers, and when the tribe would gather in the field, in the cave or around the fire for warmth, rest and safety, the storyteller would communicate the truths essential to survival; truths about the day's hunt; truths about threats to the tribe; and other important information. Because this communication was so important to the continuing survival of the tribe, the storyteller's words, by necessity, carried great impact and credibility. In much the same way now, for the preservation of mankind's most essential freedoms, trial lawyers tell stories in the courtroom, simple stories, to juries. Gerry Spence said it best: "Great trial lawyers tell simple stories." I say: "Tell simple stories to persuade juries."
Gerry Spence has been a great influence, having taught me the value of living an artistic life, of being real, and the great power that one acquires by becoming a real person. For more information about Gerry Spence and his many thought provoking books please see the Gerry Spence web site.
